From our family to yours:

All of us at Swedish Hill have been watching the COVID-19 crisis evolving and we are in shock as to what has happened as well as what may happen, as all of you are. It is likely safe to assume that none of us has ever witnesses or experienced anything like this is our lifetimes. The safety and well-being of our staff and customers is our greatest concern. At Swedish Hill, and our sister properties, Goose Watch and Penguin Bay, we are taking many steps to minimize risk of exposure. We have increased our cleaning protocols in all areas of the winery.

Our tasting room has now reopened for tastings, although visitors will notice a number of changes.   A mask covering your nose and mouth is required when you enter the tasting room.  Our tastings are all seated, as required by NYS mandate, and are all flight style.  When you arrive, you will be asked to choose your flight, then we will have you be seated.  Weather permitting, we are conducting all tastings outdoors, where we have both sun and shade options.  Once you are seated for you tasting, you may take your mask off, but it is required that you put it back on if you get up from your seat to shop, use the rest room, etc.  We are very excited to once again to be open for tastings, and we ask for your cooperation with this both for the safety of our staff, other visitors and for your safety as well.  We also want to be sure that we comply with all mandates and regulations.  All of our tables are spaced at least 6 feet apart and there are directional arrows throughout the tasting room to help maintain a safe and efficient flow of visitors.  Per NYS mandate, we require that a small food accompaniment (usually chocolates) be purchased for $1.00 additional charge to the flight.  This food requirement is for all wine consumed on our winery site, so it applied to flights, glasses and bottles.  We do not take any reservations as we have found that most people prefer not having to be on a tight schedule.   There typically is no or little wait, but at peak times there may be a short wait.  We do not accept larger groups at this time due to spacing and seating limitations, so our maximum group size is 6 people.  While some of the changes that we have implemented are to comply with new regulations, visitor response to the new tasting format has been very positive, and in fact many people have commented that they prefer the new experience.   We look forward to welcoming you soon.  The regulations continue to change, so please feel free to check back with us prior to your visit for the latest information.

Curbside pickup continues to be available to anyone who prefers not to come into the tasting room.  This is also a quick and convenient way to purchase your wine.  Simply call our main office at 1.888.549.9463 to place your order and let us know what day and time that you plan to pick up.  If you supply our credit card information to us at that time, we will have your order ready when you arrive.  Call us from the parking lot when you arrive and we will deliver your wine to your vehicle.

While we hope that we can all return to a more normal way of life in the not too distant future, we want to take the opportunity to thank all of our valued customers for your support of our wines in the past as well as through the COVID19 pandemic.  The online orders, curbside pickup orders and now the visits to our tasting rooms have been gratifying and we are humbled and very appreciative of your business and kind words.  Doobie and Sven are also appreciative that they have visitors once again!
