The strange weather patterns of 2012 had many growers on their toes with the unseasonably warm temperatures causing an early budding followed by a couple frost scares. But for Swedish Hill it worked in their favor resulting in pristine conditions for an optimal grape crop for wines. Dave Peterson, Owner of Swedish Hill Winery, stated “We expect that the 2012 vintage will go down as one of the greatest in history, probably one of the best across the board for whites and reds.” And it isn’t only at competitions that the winery has been receiving positive feedback on the 2012 wines. Visitors in their tasting rooms and at festivals have been impressed with the flavors of this vintage and are commenting how anxious they are for more 2012 releases.

Every year Swedish Hill Winery provides tastings along with selling bottles and glasses of wine at the New York State Fair’s Wine Village where patrons have the opportunity to taste some of their released award-winning wines. This year Swedish Hill is adding their Jack Ass Red and Doobie Blues wine slushies for guests to purchase.
