Swedish Hill Winery Wins “Best Sparkling Wine” at the American Wine Society’s National Wine Competition
Romulus, NY – December 3, 2012 Swedish Hill Winery concluded 2012 with 61 gold medals, including four more gold medals at the recent American Wine Society National Wine Competition. Swedish Hill was awarded three gold medals, one double gold, the “Best Sparkling Wine,” and won a total of 11 medals overall.
The American Wine Society’s 26th annual Commercial Wine Competition was held on November 6th through the 8th in Portland, Oregon. Swedish Hill was proud to receive the “Best Sparkling Wine” award for its Blanc de Blanc. Also awarded to Swedish Hill was a double gold medal for its 2011 Vidal Blanc, making it this vintage’s fifth gold medal at 2012 wine competitions. The other gold medalists from the American Wine Society included Viking White and 2011 Marechal Foch. The diversity of these gold medal wines from white to red to sparkling strengthens Swedish Hill’s pride of providing a large variety of quality wines.
Overall 2012 was an impressive year for Swedish Hill Winery with 61 gold medals, 11 “Best of Class or Category” awards, and was also named “Winery of the Year” at California’s prestigious Riverside International Wine Competition. This has made it Swedish Hill’s fifth straight year of attaining 50 or more gold medals.
